Boulder Nonlinear Systems Expands Production Capability
May, 2003 — Lafayette, Colo., May 5, 2003 — Boulder Nonlinear Systems (BNS), leaders in liquid crystal optical devices, today announced the expansion of its facility. The expansion increases the total square footage by 50 percent allowing for a significant increase in production capacity. The addition of new corporate and manufacturing space coincides with the additions of an executive in charge of OEM account management and a volume manufacturing production manager.
“We’ve seen the demand for our liquid crystal components rise steadily for some time,” said Marty Best, president and CEO of Boulder Nonlinear Systems. “Both research and OEM orders have increased, and we need to expand our production facilities to meet demand. We are bringing an OEM account manager and a volume manufacturing manager on board to ensure our growth best meets our customers’ needs.”
One-third of Boulder Nonlinear Systems’ 50 percent expansion will be devoted to manufacturing and laboratory functions. This increase will allow BNS to accommodate the expected rise in manufacturing volume and support further research and development activity.
Boulder Nonlinear Systems’ photonics devices and systems are based on high-performance ferroelectric and nematic liquid crystal technology. The company’s advanced liquid crystal optics technology is used in telecommunications, medical instruments, defense and manufacturing.
